About this product
Raeco Glide™ is a very fast setting, self-curing, ultra smooth textured, high strength, single component finishing compound intended for applications on vertical and horizontal surfaces. Glide™ is an unsanded, polymer-modified, high-strength, cementitious skimming compound. Advantages: Harder and less likely to dent. 5150 P.S.I. compressive strength. Fast Setting: allows quick installation of floor covering within 15-20 minutes Exterior-rated No primer needed (Except over gypsum.) Dimensionally stable and non-shrink formula Mixes with water only Adhesive Compatible: pH of 9 after 2 hours curing. Uses: It may be used over concrete, masonry, plywood, approved wood underlayments, terrazzo, tile/stone and cement backer board. Glide™ is designed for smoothing and patching floors and walls on projects where an ultra smooth surface is desired and when drying time is critical. It is optimally used for skim coats ranging from a true feather edge to 1/8" thickness, but may be used up to 1/2" inch. It is intended for non-structural surface repairs on both interior or exterior floors and walls. It may also be used by the professional to fill small hairline cracks and saw-cut joints. Glide™ can be installed up to 2" inches in small holes and well-defined divots. For exterior wall finishes, sealing or painting Glide™ is not required. However, sealing will help to reduce the potential for surface efflorescence and penetration of stains. When used on floors, Glide™ is intended as an underlayment and should be covered with a suitable floor covering. Silpro recommends Buttercoat RPS™, Quick Fix™, or one of our Self Leveling Underlayments for floor patches over 1/8". Silpro recommends Skimwall™ or Sack & Patch™ for wall patches thicker than 1/8". Application: Use a steel finish trowel to place the Glide™ to a properly prepared substrate forcing the material into the voids. Glide™ must always be covered by floor covering. A test application is recommended.
