About this product
Sealant backer rod is a closed cell polyethylene foam making it an ideal non-absorbent backer rod used to control sealant depth and create a back stop to allow proper wetting of the joint surfaces and yield a proper bond breaker between the backer rod and the sealant. Limiting the depth of the sealant prevents excessive use, saving on caulk or sealant. Standard backer rod can also be used as a temporary joint seal. Fits with 3/16 to 1/4 inch joint width.
