PolySweep is designed to keep sand in the joints by creating a semi-solid joint. PolySweep polymeric sand is a blend of native sands conforming to ASTM C-144 and binders specially formulated to allow the joints to expand and contract with the elements such as extreme heat, extreme cold and freeze/thaw cycles. PolySweep prevents sand erosion from the pavement joints caused by rain and other and other water run-off. PolySweep had proven to produce less hazing, deters weed growth and reduces overall pavement maintenance. The polymeric sands are swept into the pavement joints loose and dry. Care is needed to make sure the paver surface and joints are completely dry before applying sand. After sands are swept into the joints and compaction is completed, the polymers blended into the sand are activated by water and then harden when cured. PolySweep should only be used when the average ambient air temperature is above 45 degrees for a period of no less than 4 hours prior to installation of PolySweep and 8 hours after installation.
