FlameSafe® FS 1900 is a high-performance, elastomeric and intumescent sealant. It is a high-solids, water-based compound engineered to provide exceptional adhesive and elastomeric properties for the demanding firestop requirements of pipe, cable, sprinkler penetrations and construction joints in environments subjected to frequent expansion and contraction. FlameSafe® FS 1900 is highly intumescent, expanding to fill the void created by the melting and burning of plastic pipe, insulated pipe, and plastic-coated cables. FlameSafe® FS 1900 does not contain solvents. As a result, it is not toxic and cannot damage plastic pipes or cable jackets. Flamesafe® 1900 is a one component, general purpose fire rated sealant and smoke seal for construction joints and through-penetrations. Flamesafe® 1900 is a water based, extremely intumescent, non-sag caulking grade sealant that is easy to apply as well as to retrofit. It cures to an elastomeric seal that is suitable where dynamic movement is expected. In the event of a fire, Flamesafe® 1900 will prevent the spread of flames, smoke, hot gases and water through joint openings and through-penetrations. No dilution or mixing is required for use. No special skills are necessary for installation. Flamesafe® 1900 is applied with a conventional caulking gun, bulk loading gun or can be troweled from the pail. For large applications, it can be pumped directly from the pail. Flamesafe® 1900 is protected in a wet stage as well as in a dry stage against mold growth with a combination of biocides.
