About this product
PMA-2000TM is a cold-applied, trowel-grade mastic designed for use as a patching and leak repair material on asphalt roofing systems. Its high-solids content, asphalt, additional fiber reinforcement and plasticizing oils improve low temperature performance. It is designed for new flashing installation as well as repair of and patching against leaks in asphalt based roofing systems. Plasticizing oils and specially selected resins provide unusual low temperature flexibility and ductility. Advantages: Factory Formulation Ensures Uniform Quality - It is factory formulated under rigid quality control conditions to ensure uniform product quality. This eliminates the variables inherent on job site preparation of roof materials where quality control depends entirely on the individual roofer's expertise. Multi-Purpose Application - It is a multipurpose material ideal for rebuilding or maintaining flashings, sealing metal roof or gutter leaks and repairing holes, splits or blisters in the roof surface. Long Lasting Performance - It outlasts and out performs conventional roof cement. Long strand fibers provide an inherent reinforcement helping eliminate run or sag in vertical surface applications. PMA-2000TM should be used in conjunction with fiberglass mesh for roof repair and certain flashing applications. Asbestos Free - PMA-2000™ contains no asbestos. Applications: PMA-2000™ is ready to use, as is, from the container. It will not settle or form a layer of oil. In cold weather, store at room temperature to ensure proper workability. PMA-2000™ should only be applied to clean dry surfaces. Trowel a base coat of PMA-2000™ over the area to be repaired. Embed a strip of fiberglass mesh into the base coat and top dress with PMA-2000™.
