Unlike smooth or hard polymer surfaced underlayments which become extremely slippery when wet or dusty, Stronghold skid resistant technology utilizes a highly engineered raised surface profile pattern of resilient and soft rubberized polymer dots which act as grip/anchor points which deliver category leading skid resistant performance in wet/dusty conditions. This superior skid resistant technology also results in improved ability to hold roof loaded items such as tile, shingle packs, underlayment rolls all without the use of hard grit particles that increase product weight, easily dislodge, and scratch metal roofing systems. Designed for additional roofer safety in mind, PALISADE also possesses skid resistant technology on the underside, thus reducing the incidence of slippage between the underlayment and deck. Palisade is 100% Felt Free and designed with high strength polymers. This delivers 6X lighter and 30X greater tear strength compared to 30 lb. asphalt felt underlayment. This incredible strength delivers reduced blow-offs during exposed roof conditions and reduced tear away which plagues felt paper (6:1 cap nail pull strength vs. 30 lb. felt), as well as reduced installation & roof surface traffic damage.
