Elevate SEBS Mopping Asphalt is modified with SEBS (styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene) block copolymer to make it a premium choice for hot-mopped roof membrane applications. It is intended for use in Elevate Builtup Roofing systems as the primary waterproofing and as an interply adhesive. When used to adhere SBS modified bitumen roofing membranes, polyiso insulation and bituminous vapor barriers, it provides resistance to the stress forces which result from building movement associated with both wind events and temperature changes. SEBS is recommended as a durable adhesive for gravel attachments in place of oxidized asphalt. SEBS rubber polymer is well-suited to roofing applications because of its performance over a wide range of temperatures. SEBS Mopping Asphalt has excellent elasticity, low temperature flexibility and toughness that conventional oxidized mopping asphalt lacks. SEBS Mopping Asphalt is flexible below 0 °F (-18 °C) and can be heated in standard direct-fired roofing kettles and applied using standard mopping techniques. It is formulated for the same slope requirement as steep asphalt.
