Permaclip is our third aluminum piece and we consider it a "fastening alternative" piece, because it holds the last cut panel from the bottom. The Permaclip is pushed into the nail hem of the last full panel; then the top panel is installed and a tab is bent up to hold the panel in place. Although the panel can be held from the bottom at any time, there are times when the Permaclip is especially useful, such as: when the cut comes on the bend in the siding panel or when working with Dutch Lap and the cut comes on an area where the panel is angled back toward the wall. In these cases the panel cannot be held from the top, making it the perfect application for the Permaclip.
